Statement of 60 Scientists February 18, 2004

A group of about 60 scientists, among whom were 20 Nobel Laureates and scientists who have as much as 50 years experience advisingi presidents of both parties, signed a statement expressing their concern about political interference with the traditional process of providing to government technically reliable, non-partisan technical advice. Some of these scientists were affiliated with the Union of Concerned Scientists, who released their report examining over 20 cases from the last two years on the same day as the statement of the 60 scientists.
